Robotics Engineer - Cybernetics
We need Your Cybernetics Expertise on our Quest to Advance Adaptive Robot Intelligence
InMind is a newly formed company taking on the challenge of making robots learn. Our ambitious goal is to develop the world’s first real-time adaptive system for embedded deep learning.
From our headquarters in Trondheim the engineering work has already started. The work is based on the technical expertise of our founder Torgeir Trøite, an electrical engineer and successful serial entrepreneur. We are now building a strong technical team who will need to solve challenges, work hard and have lots of fun along the way in order to achieve our ambitious and potential world-changing goal.
“We have bold ambitions! InMind is advancing robot intelligence that allows robots to learn from their environment and adapt to new tasks autonomously. Personally, I strongly believe that the ability for robots to learn and improve is the key to future productivity and innovation.” – Torgeir Trøite, Founder/CEO/Head of Development
Join our R&D team as our Expert on Cybernetics and Control Systems
Our current goal is to build a team of 6-8 engineers working together on all the various aspects needed to deliver a working and learning robotics system.
For the position as Robotics Engineer – Cybernetics
we are searching for a candidate who checks off on most of the following key qualifications & experience:
- Mathematics and Algorithms: Strong foundation in mathematics, including graph theory, probability, Bayesian methods, and optimization techniques.
- Sensors and Control Systems: Expertise in working with various sensors, sensor fusion techniques, particle filters, and control theory for precise control and stability of robotic systems.
- Programming and Development: Proficiency in Python, scripting languages and VHDL. Experience with development tools such as Git. Familiarity with numerical libraries like Numpy and techniques such as FFT.
- Machine Learning and Navigation: Experience with machine learning and deep learning algorithms, SLAM, and Kalman filtering for real-time navigation, environment mapping, and enabling autonomous behaviors.
- Physics and Electronics: Knowledge of physical principles, dynamic systems, and electronics to improve the efficiency and performance of robotic systems.
Holding a MSc or PhD in a relevant filed such as cybernetics, electronics, computer science, engineering, signal processing, mathematics, or physics will be a strong advantage in this role. We do know that hands-on experience and practical knowledge are essential, so relevant experience can compensate for the academic requirement.
Who are You as a Person?
The challenge we are taking will truly by a team effort and the most important personal trait is your enthusiasm and dedication to building a strong technical team with an open and collaborative culture. Our hypothesis is that people you work with will see you as:
- Quick Learner & Team Player: You quickly acquire new skills, effectively share your knowledge with your team, and collaborate really well
- Analytical Thinker & Innovator: You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and see the value in developing new and innovative solutions
- Curious & Approachable : You are eager to tackle new challenges, learn new skills, approachable, and solution-oriented
Why Should You Join InMind?
Whether you are an experience professional or a recent graduate we offer a unique opportunity to develop new and groundbreaking technology. You will be given tough technical challenges but will experience the joy of seeing the impact of your own work.
We are located centrally in Trondheim in inspiring offices with a partly sponsored cafeteria, free parking, rain-free bicycle storage and an exercise room with showers. You’ll have a competitive salary, flexible working hours, a sound pension plan and standard benefits like mobile phone and internet coverage – and the chance to build a brand new company.
Sometimes in life, you just have to take a chance – perhaps this is yours?
Please send us your application today – we review and interview candidates on an ongoing basis, also before the formal application deadline so don’t hesitate to reach out to Trude Støren, acting Head of Recruitment (928 92 461) or Torgeir Trøite, CEO (908 30 495) if you have any questions.
Application deadline : Sunday September 1st, 2024
