Star Information Systems (STAR) seeks a dynamic individual to succeed in the role as Quality Manager. This is a key leadership position with significant responsibilities; you will take ownership of and be responsible for developing, implementing, managing, and continuously improving the quality management plan, processes, and workflows across the entire company.

You will lead the charge in fostering a culture where quality awareness is ingrained in every aspect of our organization. This newly created position is crucial to ensuring that quality, safety, and operational efficiency are firmly in place to help STAR achieve its strategic goals. The Quality Manager will be positioned at the corporate level, reporting directly to the Managing Director.
About the position
In this role, you will work actively both within and outside the company. Internally, you will support all departments and levels, including Operations, R&D, Product Development, Sales & Marketing, and the Corporate Office, ensuring that we operate as efficiently, correctly, and intelligently as possible to deliver outstanding solutions to our customers. Externally, you will assist our consultants in client engagements and projects.
The role offers significant independence, while emphasizing our collective responsibility to achieve our goals and deliver high-quality outcomes. You will collaborate with all relevant stakeholders and must be able to communicate effectively across disciplines and borders.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, manage and continuously improve our quality and management system – with internal routines and procedures across the organization.
- Oversee quality in both delivery and development projects, ensuring that products and services meet both our own and customer’s quality expectations, while maintaining compliance with current norms, regulations and requirements.
- Establish and execute annual quality plans, and drive continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and the transfer of experience within the organization.
- Manage all inspections and audits, and address and follow up on incidents – internally and with customers – ensuring that deviations and improvement suggestions are documented and appropriately handled.
- Support project managers with quality-related activities in project and tender work.
- Assist the organization with preventive risk management and ensure processes deliver solutions with the right quality, on time, while actively improving quality across the value chain.
- Establish and report on key performance indicators.
About you
Competence requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Organizational development or related fields. Relevant experience may compensate for formal education.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in quality management, with a proven track record in leading and establishing large-scale quality management projects.
- Experience of working in IT and consultancy organizations, alternatively in the maritime or energy sectors, is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems, ISO standards, regulatory compliance, and industry-specific norms.
- Strong understanding of quality processes and workflows across business units.
- Fluency in both Norwegian and English is required.
